What We Do

At Global Ocean Associates we are experts at satellite ocenography. We provide our clients with the consulting services they need to plan, acquire, interpret and extract quanitative information from both optical and synthetic aperture radar imagery of the ocean surface.

Our contributions to the field are well recognized having served as the Editor-in-Chief and contributing author to NOAA's Synthetic Aperture Radar Marine User's Manual (2004) and having produced An Atlas of Solitary-like Waves and Their Properties (2004) for the Office of Naval Reseach.

The focus of much of GOA's work has been in the area of nonlinear internal waves (solitions). The Atlas effort has allowed us to develop and maintain an extensive database of imagery containing the signature of nonlinear internal waves from many places around the world.
